Hello!
I guess you could say I was destined to eventually become a teacher - in some form or fashion. The legacy began with my Mimi and Papa - both of who'm were teachers and later became administrators in public schools. Today, I am following the footsteps of not only my beloved, late grandparents, but also my older brother and sister, who are both teachers in Texas public schools. The teaching gene runs deep within our family system.
I went to the University of Texas where I received my BA in geography, environmental science and photojournalism. After graduating, I spent time coaching gymnastics, developing my own photography business, cooking in restaurants and also becoming trained in yoga. I worked for 3 years as a lead educator for the Thinkery - The Austin Children's Museum and taught high school yoga for The Austin Waldorf School.
I loved my time getting to explore many of my passions and interests, but a little over a year ago, I knew it was time to commit full heartedly to the profession of teaching. I went back to school, and began working to gain my certifications.
Today, I am fully certified and working as a 6th grade special education collaborative teacher. I am blessed to be a part of the Eanes community and I am learning and growing in my roll as teacher, just as I help my students learn and grow everyday.
